We're putting the SEA in PCAM (also the Pacific Coast) with this four-day magic cruise departing from Vancouver, BC and ending in San Diego, CA. This will be an affordably luxurious magic convention featuring amazing shows and lectures, with non-stop food, friends, and good times.

The PCAM Family Reunion
We've started calling our conventions family reunions as it is an annual gathering of friends. If you've only experienced the big hyped mega-conventions, this is a totally different vibe. Rather than just passing strangers in the corridors, in a smaller group you'll get to meet and come to know these fine folks over the days, making friends for life. This is the secret which makes PCAM one of the most welcoming conventions for first-timers. We only have one party, all week long, and everyone is invited.
Convention Talent To Be Announced
Our plan for this magical cruise is to set a more relaxed pace than many conventions. First, we are on a floating paradise and we'd be fools not to take time to enjoy the pools, the restaurants, the pickleball!
Second, we love the idea of getting to spend more time with our stars. We'll be focusing on a smaller cast of talented performers and lecturers so we get a chance to go deeper with our magical education. Not just from lectures and workshops, but to see a true working professional present their full real-world show is one of the best lessons you can get. (oh, and also very entertaining!)

We love this opportunity for people to be active participants in the convention. PCAM runs general contests for both youth and adults to show their best stuff on stage, close-up and a number of other speciailized categories. This four-day cruise departs from Vancouver and sails south along the Pacific Coast, arriving in San Diego. Better renew your passports! There aren't many magic conventions which begin and end in different countries.
Cruise Itinerary
DAY ONE: Departing from Vancouver (3 PM), DAY TWO and THREE: At Sea (uninterupted magic!), DAY FOUR: Morning visit to Santa Barbara, DAY FIVE: Arrival in San Diego (9 AM)
Arrive Early: Don't miss the boat! It's best to be in the Vancouver area the day before departure. We will be hosting a casual night-before party for those in the neighbourhood.
Stay Late: While you can plan to travel home on October 9th, many conventioners will want to take an extra day (or more) to enjoy sunny California. (a side-trip to the Magic Castle sounds like a good idea!)
PCAM Group Rates
This is a real vacation bargain when you consider this covers both your accomodations, and also includes the best meals you've ever had at a magic convention!
- Inside Cabin: $479 per person, double occupancy, or $730 to have the room to yourself.
- Ocean View: $624 per person, double, or $991 single.
- Balcony: $767 per person, double, or $1369 single.
Price in US Dollars includes all taxes and fees, except for a Gratuity billed to your account at $17 per person, per day. Your cruise rate includes gourmet food available 24/7, but does not include beverages.
How to book your cruise
Your cruise booking is seperate from your PCAM registration. Henry Tom is our cruise agent for this convention, and he will personally take care of your reservations. Send him an email at cruise@pcammagic.com to secure your spot.
Required information to send Henry for your cruise booking:
- Name (as appearing on passport) for all guests
- Home Address, Email, and Phone Number
- Birthdates
- If you've cruised with HAL before (and member number if you know it)
Our PCAM events will be taking place in private spaces during the cruise, but there is plenty of time to enjoy all the amenities the ship has to offer. You are welcome to invite non-magician friends and family to cruise with us.

Presenters
At the PCAM we aim to invite great magicians who are also great people. You'll be inspired by their shows and lectures, and get many chances to meet them around the convention.

James Cielen
Gold Medal Magic
James Cielen is one of only eight magicians to win the Gold Medal for Excellence in Stage Performance from the International Brotherhood of Magicians. Even better proof of excellence is the successful career which has followed, including what may be the longest-running contract in the history of cruise ship magicians. We’ll get to see James on his home turf, thrilling audiences in the 890-seat World Stage theatre, plus a PCAM-exclusive talk where we can learn from his experience.
